Prerequisites

A laptop running Windows 11 with (free) Power BI Desktop installed and a Microsoft 365 account.

Format

A workshop with a lecture component — building a report together using an example close to participants' real data.

Duration

2 days, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Course scope

What your team will learn

The workshop takes the team step by step — from sourcing and cleaning data, through modeling and DAX, to finished reports and secure sharing.

After two days, participants build dashboards on their own, matched to real business questions, also using Copilot in Power BI.

The course covers

  • Interface and AI in Power BI — Power BI Desktop, the Power BI Service, and Copilot as support for reports.
  • Sourcing and cleaning data — Power Query, connecting to sources, and transforming data.
  • Data modeling — relationships between tables and star schema basics.
  • DAX measures and columns — writing your own measures and calculated columns.
  • Visuals and dashboards — clear reports matched to business questions.
  • Publishing and sharing — the Power BI Service, managing access, and sharing securely.
